Mary Janice Davidson: Undead and...

Mary Janice Davidson’s Undead series is like Chick-lit meets vampire saga.  It’s some of the most clever writing going.  I laughed out loud at least every other page.  Until…I got to book number nine when it came to a screeching halt and spun 180 degrees.   I’m holding out hope for book ten.  I’ll let you know.

Book nine notwithstanding, I highly recommend this series.  You don’t even have to like vampires and werewolves to enjoy this one – really.  The heroine, Betsy – chuckles, Betsy the vampire- is one of the most real characters you will ever meet.  It don’t want to tell you too much about her; it would ruin the fun.  Suffice to say, getting to know her is a real trip.

Don’t get me wrong.  There’s danger and daring do as well, but Betsy has a cadre of quirky cohorts to help her through the rough patches, including two very old vampires, a super wealthy best friend, and an overworked ER doctor.

What do Overhaul and Aaron Paul Lazar have in Common?

Writer's Block of course! Just in time for Fall, Writer’s block is getting a new look and new feel.  I’m going to be doing reviews of the newest paranormal works out there, as well as hosting guest bloggers on a variety of subjects.

And we’re starting off with a bang!  Aaron Lazar, author of The LaGuarde Mysteries, The Tall Pines Mysteries and now the Moore Mysteries, will be guest posting on October 12, 2012.  Healey’s Cave, Book One of his new series, won the Eric Hoffer 2012 Book Award for Commercial Fiction.  It was also the recipient of the 2012 EPIC Book Award.

I will be reviewing Book Three of the Moore Mysteries, For Keeps and posting that review around the same time.

You can find all of Aaron Paul Lazar’s books on his website at http://www.lazarbooks.com .  He even includes a page rich with writing advice and marketing tips, which are invaluable to those of us new to the business.

Mark your calendars and I’ll see you here!  Be sure to check back.  I’m going to be talking about Mary Janice Davidson’s Undead series.
